Valget af den rette l\u00e6ngde afh\u00e6nger af en kombination af fysiologiske og biomekaniske faktorer, herunder kropsh\u00f8jde, benl\u00e6ngde, kadencepr\u00e6ference, fleksibilitet, neuromotorisk kontrol og eventuelle bev\u00e6gelsesbegr\u00e6nsninger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Udviklingen af pedalarmsl\u00e6ngder<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I midten af 1990\u2019erne blev der eksperimenteret med ekstremt lange pedalarme, is\u00e6r i enkeltstarter, hvor nogle ryttere brugte helt op til 180 mm. Dette st\u00e5r i skarp kontrast til nutidens tilgang, hvor blandt andre Jonas Vingegaard har testet 150 mm pedalarme i netop samme disciplin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De fleste landevejscykler leveres i dag med standardl\u00e6ngder p\u00e5 170, 172,5 eller 175 mm, men kortere ryttere (under 170 cm) v\u00e6lger ofte mellem 160 og 170 mm, mens h\u00f8jere ryttere (over 180 cm) typisk foretr\u00e6kker 172,5 mm eller l\u00e6ngere. Den traditionelle opfattelse har v\u00e6ret, at h\u00f8jere ryttere b\u00f8r bruge l\u00e6ngere pedalarme, mens lavere ryttere b\u00f8r v\u00e6lge kortere. Fordelingen af de 73 besvarelser var som f\u00f8lger:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>160 mm<\/strong>: 1 person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>165 mm<\/strong>: 10 personer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>170 mm<\/strong>: 8 personer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>172,5 mm<\/strong>: 39 personer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>175 mm<\/strong>: 15 personer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dette viser, at de helt korte pedalarme stadig er relativt sj\u00e6ldne, selvom de de seneste \u00e5r er blevet mere popul\u00e6re \u2013 is\u00e6r i professionelle milj\u00f8er.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fordele og ulemper ved korte og lange pedalarme<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Korte pedalarme (160-170 mm)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kortere pedalarme har flere biomekaniske fordele. De g\u00f8r det lettere at opretholde en h\u00f8j kadence, da den reducerede bev\u00e6gebane kr\u00e6ver mindre muskul\u00e6r kontrol. Kan de ogs\u00e5 drage fordel af kortere pedalarme? Hvis man har tendens til at k\u00f8re i tunge gear, kan det v\u00e6re en god id\u00e9 at eksperimentere med kortere pedalarme. De reducerer muskeltr\u00e6thed og kan i teorien forbedre restitutionen, da b\u00e5de muskler og sener belastes mindre.
